Why choose Secretlab in the first place?

Just one good reason: you want a top-of-the-range chair that will be with you for a very long time.

Basically, you think about it once, you select it once, and then you’ll never have to think about it again because it’s so durable and high quality.

The problem is, when you spend that kind of money on a chair…

You’re bound to want to compare it with the brand’s other models, to see if there’s a bargain to be had.

Well, there aren’t 36 models to choose from, so I’m going to be able to compare them in depth.

That way, you’ll be able to invest with full knowledge of the facts, so if you don’t want to risk making a mistake with your next purchase, I suggest you read me carefully!

The best Secretlab gaming chairs are:

Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 Series: The BEST (it has all the features)

secretlab titan evo 2022.jpg

First of all, I must inform you of something I believe to be of the utmost importance: the Secretlab Titan Evo Série 2022 is not just an evolution of the Titan range.

It’s a combination of the know-how and qualities that were included in the Titan 2020 and Omega 2020.

It therefore surpasses them in every way, and for the small price difference between these models, I can only recommend that you go for this one.

But what’s so great about the Titan 2022?

(I’m not going to talk about the design, just know that it’s available in 135+ variants, including Overwatch editions, for example).

First of all, something very important in my opinion and often overlooked by competing brands:

  • A size S version for gamers under 1m69 and who also weigh less than 90kg.
  • A Regular size version for gamers between 1m70 and 1m89 and weighing less than 100kg.
  • And finally, an XL-size version for gamers between 1m81 and 2m05, weighing between 80 and 180kg.

It’s a real advantage to have different chairs for different heights and weights, since all dimensions have been redesigned to suit YOUR body type.

Gone are the days when your seat is too deep, and your knees bump against the seat or are 2km from the seat if you’re too tall.

No more headrests that reach your upper back or backrests that are too big if you’re shorter.

As you can see, it’s a real ergonomic advantage, and I’m not even talking about feet that will finally touch the ground for the smallest among you.

The foam used in the Titan Evo is a patent-pending high-density cold foam.

In concrete terms, what you get is a medium-firm foam that will NOT sag over time.

So the foam won’t end up flattened even if you use it for hours every day for years.

And to improve ergonomics, this foam has been made so that your weight is distributed evenly throughout the chair…

So you don’t have to put all your weight on one particular part of your body, and therefore on the chair.

The tilting mechanism is also of the highest quality, so I’ll skip all the technical considerations and get straight to the benefits:

  • The chair is not tilted in the middle, so your feet will always be touching the floor as you tilt.
  • And because it’s not centered, there’s less pressure on your hips and lower body.
  • And as a bonus, it even improves blood circulation in your legs and avoids the “heavy legs” effect.

And now I realize I didn’t mention it… Do you know why a good rocking mechanism is important (apart from what I’ve just mentioned)?

Because your body needs to move, to use various muscles, so without a rocking mechanism you’ll be stiff as a post all day long.

Your lumbar vertebrae (lower back) are going to take a beating all day long without a rocking mechanism, because you’re not giving them a chance to engage other muscles.

So don’t be one of those people who blocks this mechanism (because yes, it’s possible to do so, as Secretlab lets you choose your own settings by pushing a lever under the chair).

Continuing on the subject of ergonomics, it also features 4D armrests.

This allows you to :

  • Adjust their height to fit your arms at a 90° angle, relieving pressure on your shoulders.
  • Adjust their width to suit your shoulder width, so that your arms can rest on the armrests without having to spread them.
  • Adjust their angle to suit the way you play/type (nobody plays with straight arms).
  • Adjust them forwards and backwards, so you can move forwards or backwards as you prefer, but it’ll also get you a little closer to your desk!

As you can see, it’s all about ergonomics and comfort.

The backrest can be tilted up to 165°, giving you plenty of room to rest, take a nap or simply find your preferred sitting angle.

When it comes to durability, Secretlab doesn’t leave us out in the cold. The frame is made of metal and the foot cross of aluminum.

Aluminum is the best material for a chair leg, because it withstands almost a ton of pressure.

And when it comes to upholstery, it’s an even bigger success.

The fabric version is 2 times more breathable than the Titan 2020, and the faux-leather version is 12 times more resistant than normal PU leather.

This corrects the problem of PU leather, which sometimes tends to flake off on low-end chairs, AND for those who opt for fabric, means a chair that won’t stick to your back in summer.

And last but not least, ergonomics:

  • The integrated lumbar support is adjustable in height AND volume, which is a first for a gaming chair.

So no more separate cushions that have to be modulated, always put back in the right position and sometimes too big if you’re thin.

  • Magnetized headrest

So you no longer have to struggle with a headrest that attaches around the chair and sometimes makes it difficult to place it in the right place…

And why are lumbar support and headrest important?

The lumbar support allows you to reproduce the natural curvature of your spine, which, as you know, forms a kind of S-shape.

Without it, you’re headed for disaster and back pain.

The headrest, on the other hand, is more optional, allowing you to place your neck in a neutral position and avoid back pain.

So there you have it: for me, this is the best ergonomic gaming chair on the market today.

La Secretlab Titan Evo 2020 : Bonne, mais c'est une ancienne version

secretlab titan evo 2020.jpg

I’d almost like to tell you that, given the small price difference between the Titan 2020 and the Titan 2022, you’d be making a bad deal if you bought the 2020.

Why would that be?

Well, because Secretlab have done their homework and many of the features found on the 2022 are not present on the 2020, so here’s a brief comparison:

  • The armrests are 4D, BUT they’re not interchangeable and magnetized like on the 2022, so you won’t be able to take advantage of the Titan 2022’s “CloudSwap” technology, which lets you change armrests in 2 seconds.

However, when it comes down to it, are you really going to use the armrest change (they offer upgraded armrests on the side).

But it can also be useful if you’ve mistreated them.

  • The 2020’s SoftWeave fabric is less breathable and of lower quality than the 2022’s (by a factor of two).
  • The PU leather version is also less resistant than on the 2022, because on the 2022 they’ve made huge strides by increasing its resistance by a factor of 3.

So what’s the point of saving a few dozen euros for a less resistant chair?

The headrest is memory foam, as on the 2022, but it’s not magnetized, so you’ll have to tie it around the chair.

So here again, you lose ease of adjustment if you choose the 2020.

The lumbar support remains integrated, but you won’t be able to benefit from L-Adapt technology. Basically, you’ll only be able to adjust the volume of the lumbar support, and not the height as well, as is possible on the 2022.

And for me, that alone justifies the purchase of the 2022. It’s really important to be able to place the reinforcement in the right place to respect the S-shaped curvature of your back.

As for the rest:

  • The cold foam remains more or less the same for me, and is also available in sizes for small, medium and large.
  • The foot cross is also made of aluminum.
  • The tilting mechanism is just as high-quality.
It can also be tilted up to 165°.

As I’m sure you’ve gathered by now, the 2020 is an older version, and far less qualitative than the 2022.

They’ve made enough progress on the 2022 that I can recommend it with my eyes closed.

The Secretlab Titan Omega 2020: It was good, but also an old version

secretlab titan omega 2020.jpg

Nor do I currently recommend the Secretlab Titan Omega 2020.

For the small price difference, go for the Titan Evo 2022.

Why should you?

Because there’s too great a loss of settings and features on this model.

Here’s what you lose out on:

  • The Titan Omega 2020 doesn’t come with an integrated lumbar support at all. Instead, it’s a memory foam cushion that has to be placed in the right place (with all its known shortcomings).
  • The fabric is Softweave, less breathable and similar to the Titan Evo 2020.
  • The Pu 2.0 leather is 3 times less resistant (like that of the Titan 2020) than the pu leather found on the 2022.
  • Nor are the armrests magnetized or interchangeable.
  • The headrest has memory foam, but is not magnetized.

In short, as you can see, you lose a great deal of functionality compared to both the Titan 2020 and the Titan 2022.

Given the small price difference, you’d be making a very poor choice.

For features that remain more or less the same:

  • The foam is patented memory foam.
  • The foot cross is aluminum.
  • Steel frame.
  • The armrests are 4D adjustable.
  • The Omega can be tilted up to 165°.
  • The tilting mechanism is still very good.

So, now you know all about the 3 Secretlab chair models currently on sale, and also how the brand has evolved from model to model to offer…

For me, the Titan 2022 is the ultimate model.

I think the main reason to buy a Secretlab gaming chair is that they’re always at the cutting edge of technology and invest heavily in research and development.

In short, buying a Secretlab means avoiding the headache, thinking about it once, buying it once, and knowing you’ve got the best of the best.

Secretlab was created with one particular goal in mind, which is to manufacture gaming chairs using the best possible materials and the greatest technological advances of the moment.

It was launched in 2014 by two gamers who at the time were giving their all on Starcraft, so they knew what gamers wanted, and what the gaming chair market was lacking.

And of course, their goal is perfectly clear: to offer not 36 models, each different from the next, but 1 model available in several sizes, which will be the best.

In terms of warranty, Secretlab’s products come with a very high level of protection, exceeding the normal legal warranty by 5 years.

After-sales service is very responsive, and I was delivered super-fast when I ordered my Titan Evo 2022.

And as Secretlab has built up a very good reputation over the years, you’ll have no trouble finding lots of other positive reviews.

Secretlab is something of a “reference”.
