The DXRacer Robas Lund 62505sg4 is an affordable way to access DXRacer’s offerings, but…
Without skimping on quality, and aimed at demanding gamers looking for the DXRacer quality we know so well.
The aim is to satisfy gamers in search of quality craftsmanship and comfort during their long hours of gaming.
So don’t leave me just yet!
In this review of the Robas Lund DX Racer, you’ll discover all the features of this chair, so you can avoid bad deals.
Sommaire
The DXRacer Robas Lund is aimed at gamers looking for comfort and durability from a long-established brand.
This chair will suit seasoned gamers who play around 6-7h/d on their computer or console.
If you play very little, look for a low-cost gaming chair.
If you’re a seasoned gamer, you can continue reading this review, or take a look at my ranking of the best high-end gaming chairs.
The recommended height is between 1.55 and 1.75 m, with a maximum load of 100kg.
So this chair won’t suit everyone in terms of morphology.
However, if you’re a little taller or shorter, I think it’ll still fit – the recommended sizes are really for “perfect sitting”!
But you can always take a look at the Formula F08.

The most important thing to look for when considering quality is…
To see if it holds up well over time, or if it eventually collapses and no longer returns to its normal shape.
After all, it would be very annoying if, after a few months’ use, it started to fail to regain its basic shape.
In this case, however, there’s no such problem: it easily regains its shape and doesn’t sag over time.
In terms of comfort, it’s half-firm, half-soft. It works a bit like a memory foam mattress.
However, I couldn’t find the exact density.
The seat is good, and I find the backrest light (which is good), unlike some chairs that are totally abusive.
On this chair, the sides of the backrest are curved just right…
This will enable people with long or short shoulders to feel comfortable and not cramped.
As for the seat, it’s particularly pleasant, as it allows you to sit comfortably in the chair, especially if you’re used to having trouble finding a comfortable posture like I do…
With this chair, you shouldn’t have that problem.
On the robas lund DXRacer, you can lock or unlock the seat’s tilting mechanism.
To put it simply, this is what will or won’t allow the backrest to be locked, or to follow the movements of your back as you move around in the chair.
I recommend that you leave it unlocked (you pull the lever on the right-hand side that raises/lowers the seat).
It’s a great advantage, making it easier for you to sit for long hours without back pain.
I couldn’t find the class of the gas strut on the DXRacer robas lund, in fact, we’re not given this information.
The gas strut is what determines the seat’s “spring” force, its power to move up and down.
A class 4 gas spring is the best available on the market today, and generally doesn’t cost much.
But since we don’t have that information here, I can’t say.
Except to say that for the moment it goes up and down normally.
However, the gas-lift cylinder is a “TÜV-certified gas-lift cylinder”, which according to my research augurs a very well-made gas-lift cylinder.
The Robas Lund DX Racer 5 is tough, with a steel frame.
As you know, this is one of the most resistant materials…
So it’s good news that steel is used for the frame.
On a slightly less positive note, the cross leg is made of nylon.
But that’s not necessarily a bad thing…
Most gaming chairs in this range have foot crosses made from this type of material.
Steel would have been top of the range in terms of resistance, but even in nylon, breakage is rare and…
This material is still present even on some €1,000 ergonomic seats.
In my opinion, this is the minimum required to adjust them correctly to the size of your desk.
What would have been a very bad thing, however, would have been if they couldn’t be moved at all.
What might have been a bonus would have been if they could at least be swivelled from left to right.
However, that’s not possible on this chair.
It’s up to you to decide whether it’s a problem or not…
I imagine that most people will be happy with the ability to adjust their height, knowing that when I go to my friends’ houses, most of them have fixed ones!
After all, it all depends on your platform: if you play on a console, fixed armrests may be enough…
Although if they can be adjusted in height, they’ll still be more comfortable, even on a console.
The DXRacer advantage is their designs. It’s here that we recognize their past in the manufacture of sports car seats.
Here we have a nice bucket-shaped seat, with worked curves and a well-thought-out design.
The DXRacer Robas Lund’s lack of colors (almost exclusively black) is a shame, but the emphasis is on simplicity and sobriety.
Simple, but pretty.
The DXRacer logo appears on the top of the backrest and on the cushions.
The DXRacer Robas Lund is made of fabric, which is rather rare in the world of gaming seats.
It’s also my favorite material.
Its only drawback is that if it’s stained, it’s bound to be harder to get out than on leatherette, and again, it all depends on the type of stain…
Some stains come off very easily, even on fabric.
On the other hand, fabric has great advantages.
It can’t chip like leatherette, and I find it much more comfortable, lighter and softer.
It’s also more breathable in summer, so you won’t sweat all day for nothing.
It’s particularly thick and well finished. You won’t have any problems with durability.
The two cushions supplied with the seat are made of imitation leather.
One is for the lumbar region and the other for the neck.
This provides excellent support and protects your back.
Especially the lumbar cushion, which follows the natural curvature of the back!
So I can only recommend using them (although I tend not to use the neck cushion too much, as I sometimes find it disturbing.
DXRacer’s trademark care is evident here: the seams are clean, straight, even, tight and thick.
What’s more, there’s no “play” or floating on the threads.
Which bodes well for the future.
The only drawback is that I find the seams very conspicuous.
After all, it’s just a detail, and may have been done on purpose to give the chair a more “fizzy” effect.
There’s no wobble on the castors either: they’re securely attached and roll smoothly.
What’s more, no matter what the material, they don’t get stuck and keep rolling, even on carpet.
You can angle the chair up to 135°, which corresponds to a semi-recumbent, semi-sitting posture.
Generally speaking, this is good for adjusting the chair according to your preference, or even for watching a film in a rather comfortable position, or especially I find it good for reading.
Some go as far as 180°, but lying on a chair…
You might as well be comfortable in bed.
The chair is ergonomically designed, like most gaming chairs.
You’ll be able to adjust it to your height, whenever you want, without moving from the chair.
The lever for raising/lowering the chair is located on the right-hand side of the seat.
Pulling this lever to the right or left locks/unlocks the rocking mechanism.
Finally, on the outside of the armrests there’s an easily accessible knob for adjusting their height.
It’s DXRacer, the instructions are well explained, and there aren’t that many screws to put in, frankly…
It’s super simple, and if you ever have a problem, that’s another advantage of having DXRACER.
It’s so well known that in just two clicks you’ll find an assembly video, sometimes even an official brand video.
I’ll give you a quick summary of what other customers think of this chair:
They like the comfort, the quietness of the wheels, that the chair doesn’t squeak, and the big plus compared to the PU leather version…
That the chair doesn’t make you sweat in summer.
The real complaints come mainly from the fact that the armrests tend to move a little on their own, but…
This is quite common in gaming chairs and isn’t really a problem.
The cushions supplied with the chair are extremely useful and greatly enhance the comfort experienced when using the DXRacer Robas Lund.
Last but not least, the castors are impeccable, smooth and silent.
The overall consensus on this chair is therefore good, and it’s to be recommended.
There’s the Empire Gaming 700, its armrests are 2D vs. 1D adjustable, it can be tilted up to 180° vs. 135°, it has high-resilience cold foam and it accepts a load of up to 120kg vs. 100kg.
Nevertheless, you don’t benefit from DXRacer’s know-how.
Read my review of the Empire Gaming 700.
There’s the Corsair T1 Race V2, with 4D vs. 1D armrest adjustment, 180° vs. 135° recline, 48kg/m3 high-resilience foam, 120kg vs. 100kg maximum load.
If you need more features, and want to move upmarket, this could be an interesting choice.
Read the Corsair T1 Race V2 review.
Finally, there’s the Nitro Concepts S300, you can adjust its armrests in 3D vs. 1D, it’s going to recline up to 135° both have cold foam, and a maximum weight of 135kg vs. 100kg.
It’s a choice you can make if you want to sacrifice DXRacer quality in exchange for armrests with more adjustment possibilities.

The DXRacer robas lund wanted to position itself in a market segment that would enable demanding gamers to obtain a comfortable gaming chair with a minimum of adjustments, while still being affordable.
I find that the robas lund DXRacer meets these needs.
It has the minimum settings that any gamer has a right to expect, and it’s comfortable and accessible.
So it’s a success.
